Beeee.....

Other than the few words that Madison knows how to pronounce, she uses the word Beeeee to communicate. I'm not sure why she chose it or what word it derived from but besides "mom" and "dad" her next favorite word is Beeee.

At first I thought it meant "build" because when she stacks her blocks I explain it to her as "build." Then the other day, she was pointing at her snacks saying "beeee." Another time, we saw one of those yellow Caterpillar construction machines and she pointed at it and said "beeeee". There have been other instances where she uses the word "beeeee" to tell us something. I think it's very cute and I just wanted to share that with you all. It's just a matter of time before she starts talking!!!

December 30, 2007... Daddy's Birthday!

She was NOT afraid of the morning glory. In fact she held 1 on each hand! She got mad when it went out and we were still trying to light the next one.

Happy 31st Birthday Daddy!
**note the Dora party hat**
It's a Japanese tradition to make mochi before the New Year so I tried to get her to play with it but she was afraid to touch it.
She loves petting these dogs . She almost tried to ride one of them!
I gave her earplugs on New Year's Eve. She slept through all the fireworks.

The Latest on Madison

We had a very busy year end. In addition to Christmas and New Years, we had Ryan's birthday, Mochi Day (yearly tradition at the Konishi Household in Kailua to make Mochi), a funeral, a big Filipino party at the Ugalino Household and the Sugar Bowl---all in 1 week. Through all this commotion, Madison was a doll. She surprised all of Ryan's Aunties by playing all by herself and running all around without being so clingy with me. She was happy to show everyone all her new tricks and new words that she says (she can imitate the garbage truck, she copies an expression from Derek Jeter, she can make fish lips, she says "ba-bo" for tumble, when I carry her, she pretends like she's falling and she'll say "woah-woah-woah-woah"!) There's so many new things that she does, it's hard to keep up!

It amazes me how she interacts with other children. Madison has a 4 year old cousin who she loves playing with, but she refuses to share any of her toys with her. She has a cousin who is 1 month younger than her (a peer) who she doesn't really acknowledge when they're together, but depending on her mood, she may or may not share her toys with her. Lastly, Madison has a 9 month old cousin who she loves completely. She'll try her hardest to carry him, hug him, kiss him. She doesn't mind when he plays with her toys. And when someone picks him up and takes him away, she'll scream and reach out her arms towards him because she doesn't want him to leave.

I'm not sure who visits this site regularly, but if you do, THANK YOU!
I have tons of pictures in my camera so I'll try to post some within the next week.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
