December Pictures

I was able to tie rubber bands on her hair. She thought there was something on her head, but when she felt her head, she couldn't find it (she'll normally feel the top of her head, not the back). So these rubber bands stayed on for a while before she accidentally felt the ponytail and she immediately took them off.

Madison loves to read. One trick I use to distract her from nursing is to tell her that it's time to read, then she'll get her book and bring it over to me so we can read/talk about the pictures.

Learning to self-feed

Taking a nap with her best friend Dora

It is freezing here in Whitmore and she hates anything on her head so we used this pillow to help keep her head warm.

She loves to carry and caress this doll. The doll came with a bottle and Madison loves to feed her with it.

She also loves to pretend like she's drinking from the bottle too!

14 Months Old

It is so fun being a mother. We all know that Madison loves me (of course!)...Anyway, yesterday while watching TV, Madison saw me and Ryan holding hands. She came up to us and took Ryan's hand away from mine. We held hands again, she took his hand off again. We did this about 3 or 4 times before she decided to take ownership and threw herself on me. I love it!

She's only 14 months old and it's amazing how much she understands. We always encourage her to say new words and nothing comes out of her mouth but she does have a handful of words in her vocabulary. She says Mom, Hi Dad, uh-oh, hat, ball, rrrrrrrraaah (growl like a lion), mmmmm (moo like a cow), mmmm(in a very low, choppy sound--imitating her fart & burp), Ra-ra (Dora), Bruh-Bruh ("Brown Bear" from the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?)

She also dances! She has 3 styles of dance moves. The first is your typical swaying side-to-side to a slow melody (she does this to Barney's "I love you" song). The second is when she swings her arms back and forth like Daniel-san in Karate Kid II (you know, that toy drum thing). The third is when she sings and spins around in a circle (she usually dances this way when we sing the alphabet song).

This video clip is dance move #2

More pictures

We don't know what this is. But she does this
impression a lot.
She seems to like dogs. She'll go up to them to touch, but if
the dog gets too close to her she'll turn away.

We saved the box that her carseat came in. She
loves playing in it.
